Field notes
07/04 Been a while! Coles mackerel. Quite salty. Quite tender. There’s a definitive but not unpleasant fishy taste, with some metallic notes. Honestly, I think it’s good, maybe it’s the olive oil that’s salty? But there’s also not a lot of mackerel in the tin. Good texture though. A part of me is curious to do a test of this next to a premium mackerel. This was relatively cheap if memory serves, and it might hold up well. But it also could do badly depending on the tin, I don’t know the consistency.
